Uknighted Manganime Life is too short to watch bad anime

Note: The First Look is written as I was watching. I’m not editing out the bitterness and horror. You need to be warned. This trumps High School Girls. In the last part most of the stuff I’ve written is as comments on the screencaps. You will see why. Here we go.

It all starts so seriously. Traditional music and paintings in the background. Inukami are powerful beasts meant to destroy evil. The first scene is of some sort of exorcism. The action is decent. I might like this show because it looks so much like shoujo ai. I mean look at them…

Then the title scrolls on the screen: “Don’t mind me being naked!” GAH! The sounds you hear are that of shattered hopes. Indeed, the following scene goes on and on and on, as we are treated to long pans of a house and its interior (not exact quotes, but close to it):
Girl: “Wake up. I wanna do stuff.”
Guy: “It’s too early.”
Girl: “But, look, I’ve already become like this”
Guy (breathes, impressed): “wow… great…”
Girl: “Don’t stare like that….”
>.< Innuendo!
Then we see her tail. It's... really big and fluffy. Then the bed with their two pillows. "I've waited for so long to be with you", "But I am not ready yet" (that's the guy's line). By now the innuendo gets old. If they wanted to make us wonder what this is about, they failed. Check out the screenshots for tackiness and a crotch/ass shot.

Then it all comes crashing down even further. “I won’t do it like that/ I wanna go with you on a date.” “Gah! You are my pet! Your purpose is to crush evil. There is no time for frivolity.”

What this could have been:
In a world where humans receive help from the gods, a boy is graced with the presence of a inukami. This is the story of their relationship and how it evolved into deep mutual trust and respect.
Reality check:
Keita is an unlikeable moron. After that speech he goes out to “patrol”, but actually drools at the girls walking past him, and calls the inukami he assaulted earlier a “mutt”. Guess she is not good enough for a date, but he is up for zoophilia…

She sees him. For once, I want violence to happen. Even if that’d fit the Token Abusive Girl, he deserves it. Instead she uses her powers (meant to destroy evil!) to make him run for it, then to get him naked and arrested (again). She then visits in prison. (And why is he still naked?)

What this could have been:
Chobits in a world where humans are partnered with inukamis.
Reality check:
She tricks him, wants him for no reasons we can fathom, and apparently also owns him.
Actually something good:
It’s actually refreshing that his nudity is not a big deal to either of them.

PLOT TWIST:
Cool Older Guy comes in and tells Keita that if they destroy an evil spirit, his criminal record will be cleared. The catch? They must become an intimate couple for this mission. Weee. That was not random at all.
Insert hijinks. During the briefing Keita picks his nose, sleeps etc, while Youko asks the quetions. That is till Cool Guy mentions the demon’s power: he can make people naked. Then Kouta jumps on the case. My dislike for him grows in leaps and bounds.

The mock date is getting somewhere… There is a Moment… when a shadow looms…. and…. NAKED DEMON with blue elephant censoring! O.o Followed by naked demon ass (uncensored). Click on the thumbnails at your own risk. There was also a scene with the naked guy running down the street. Hijinks. Hijinks. The two start fighting about being a couple, “No, a dog and her owner”. And then comes what you will think it’s the most WTF moment of this episode: the demon, pissed at being ignored, helds the cape open, and starts… swaying, saying “look here, look here.” That blue elephant doesn’t look that bad… and when it’s gone… (do NOT click on the last screenshot. really.)

But you are WRONG. That was not the most WTF moment of this episode. I am sorry I can only upload screenshots. Without his ugh… movements this is not so scaring…

A bunch of other dumb stuff happens. Youko fries him. They win. I can’t find the power to care.

The preview for the next episode. “You are in shock from laughing too hard.”? No, that’s not why!
