Imagined discussion while writing Canvas:
Idiot1: Why don’t we have a really cute female cousin in there, and they’ll be like brother and sister and they can discover their relationship *wink wink*
Idiot2: Thats an awesome idea, we can’t have that as the main relationship though, we wouldn’t get enough ratings
Idiot3: Ooh, how about we have the back story about years ago, a girl liked him and confessed to him, but he rejected her. Then lets bring her back and they can try and develope their relationship as adults!
Idiot1: Thats a great idea, everyone knows backstories add character, we can do lots of flashbacks as well!
Idiot2: That is soo amazing, how did you think of that ^^
Idiot1: Ok, how about we get the hot young cousin to live with the guy, then we can have awesome scenes about her making dinner for him and taking baths together, showing what a strong relationship they have!
Idiot3: Ohh i like that, but why is she staying with him?
Idiot2: ooh i just had a really original idea, lets kill off her parents in a car accident when she was little!
Idiots 1 and 3: Oooh awesome
Idiot1: i lve the sense of tragedy, that will really make this interesting.
Idiot2: Oh btw, can we have some lolicon pantsu fanservice ? I like pantsu!
Idiots 1 and 3: Sure, sounds awesome 
Idiot23: I propose a toast, to our new awesome, original and amazing anime: CANVAS 2!

Doinky Episode title
We start with Hiroki dreaming about the past, a girl that confessed to him, but he he rejected her… jerk
Hiroki wakes up to find his cousin sharing his bed with him, because it is cold ~_~

They get to school, heres the welcoming speech given by Saya - the superintendent of the school. how cliched to have people who run schools young and doinky
Hiroki zones during the speech and thinks about the car accident that killed his cousin Elis’s parents.
After the welcoming speech, Hiroki is asked to take a look at the work drawn by the art club. He comments on their style and all this other crap..

So, all these 13-16yr girls in this art club (i assume its a girls school) are drawing boobies, and they get Hiroki in to look at them and tell them if he likes them
*Whistles* no, thats not dodgy at all is it 
Preparing for inspection perhaps
Elis comes in, and is rather testy. The club manager says that they’re painting roses, but Elis says she hates roses and runs out ~_~
She comes back later and paints some blue roses. When Hiroki comes back to class, the teachers painting has been damaged and Elis gets the blame. She says she didn’t do it, but when Hiroki isn’t convinced, she runs out ~_~

Hiroki goes to the library and meets his friend Hagino. They puzzel over what has happened with Elis and the painting.

Anyway, they see a classmate walking past outside:
Turns out she was the person that accidentally messed up the painting. They call up the art teacher and explain, and Elis is off the hook.
As Hiroki and Elis are walking home, she sees a stoplight at an interestion and breaksdown. Turns out she hates the colour red because it reminds her of blood and when she lost her parents. Thats wht she didn’t want to paint roses.
The next day as hiroki and elis are heading to school, Hiroki sees someone he recognizes.
We see the flashback that played at the start of the episode
The girl’s face of whom Hiroki rejected is revealed.
It is the same person that is walking up the parth to their school.
END DOINK
btw, the ED animation is freaking _____! I
Well…. apart from the ending, the show wasn’t that bad. It kind of remined me of Kannon actually, and at the time i really liked Kannon. I don’t think this is going to be a great anime, and its really unoriginal and rather cliched. Also theres the matter of the completely stupid fanservice. At the moment though, i will keep watching and see how it gets -_-
Personally i think both the OP and the ED songs are nasty, and not worth listening too. Someone from Animesuki uploaded what i think is the original game OP, its a lot nicer to listen too.
Make your own mind up whether to watch it or not. If you haven’t seen that much anime, then the cliches won’t bother you that much..

I guess if you want _originality_, there is very little anime you can really look forward to nowadays. I do however think that Canvas has a very good execution so far. Especially the fact that the male lead seems to be a decent guy and NO wuss is refreshing.
So in summary, I’d say this was a pretty good start.

It’s only the 1st episode and there we are - panty shots already! How typical of harem shows. I am sure it will be as exciting as staring at a wall for 20 minutes.
