Meet a rainbow chaser. Literally. Kourou carries a big jar with him and tells Ginko with a straight face that he’s going to catch a rainbow and take it home with him. [more]

I settled down after some housework and chores to some more Mushishi. By now, that music is a welcome and soothing background mood setter. This time, we have a man who has prophetic dreams. Ginko visits him, and tells him the dreams will increase in number, and that he should take medicine to control those dreams, or one day he won’t wake up. He leaves, and comes back in one year … only to see the village in ruins. [more]

I sometimes find myself wondering, “Why is moss so pretty?” Is it because Mushishi’s animators are amazingly good at drawing green things? I do believe the entire series may be themed on shades of white, grey, black, and lots of green. Lots of really really gorgeous, lush, rich, lavish green. [more]
When I heard the first guitar melody of the opening theme, my first thought was, “Wow, I wonder which Japanese band this is, I’ve gotta have it!” Then I found out it was “The Sore Feet Song” by Ally Kerr. *laugh* Ah well. The opening is pretty and hazy, with lots of barely-there, fade-in/fade-out blurry cinematography. It’s setting the tone for a nice mellow series. Actually, it reminded me a lot of the Gankutsuou OP. I loved that OP, and I’m starting to really like this one. […]
