Ginko’s in a fishing village, which seems to be somewhere in the Kansai district (if my ears don’t deceive me, the villagers are speaking in Kansai-ben). He meets Shiro, who’s been waiting for his wife for the past two and a half years. Shiro tells Ginko the story of their seperation, which revolves around sea snakes and a mysterious mist. [more … ]

The Snowman

As the holidays close in, I would like to take the time to introduce you to one of my favorite animated works ever. Be aware that this isn’t actually anime per se. The Snowman is actually a British piece of animation based on a book by Raymond Briggs. Nominated for an Oscar (back when that actually MEANT something) and winner of the British Academy Award for best children’s entertainment in 1982, this is a true classic in my book.

I have taken a LOT of screencaps for this article, though you should know that the screencaps in no way does any justice to this movie. It’s simply a feature that has to be seen to be believed. And you should.

Note: If you’re feeling particularly brave, you can always hover the mouse over the screenshots to be subjected my rather dry and occationally horribly corrupted sense of humor.

Mai Otome 10 - When Plotholes Attack!

Categories: Blog'd, My Otome.

Heinrich Nietzsche once said that what does not kill you, only makes you stronger. He imagined natural supermen that held the abiltiy to grow stronger by nature and more powerful and would conquer with the power of his natural body… appearently, he never had to experience pain like this, because I think Otome’s going to kill my hope for a good series.

Granted, this episode has yet to be as wanky as the previous one, it still has enough to create a major turn off for the emotionally healthy. Be warned, the following is image intensive and not for the faint of connection… and more humerous comments can by found by placing your mouse icon over the caps to read my brilliant (ha!) jokes.

At Willu’s request, a Shakugan no Shana Character list.

Classmates, Family, Flamehaze.

Nietono no shana — Shana — The “heroine” of SnS, a flamehaze, her Guze no Ou is Alastor, one of the most powerful, and well known Guze no Ou. Is obscenely cute in everything she does, loves meron pan, and is a genius in every way. Lacks some common knowledge (mostly things involving emotions) and has an underlying love for Yuuji[…]
