AnimeBlogger.net has always been supportive of new writers all over the world to establish their blog for free. As we continue to expand and include new bloggers to the anime blogosphere, we have reached a point where advertising dollars are not enough to pay for the hosting services.

Hence, we have decided to appeal for donations to cover the taxes and hosting fees of AnimeBlogger.net. The first goal is to raise US$1600 to cover three months of hosting and the taxes applicable to AnimeBlogger.net. When we have secured that amount, we are looking into adding another server in order to accommodate more writers, which is where the second goal comes in. If we reach our second goal of US$2200, we'll be able to add another server.

If you are wondering how you can donate to us, there are various ways. First, you can directly donate to the site via Amazon or Paypal from our donations page. Second, you can buy AnimeBlogger.net merchandise. As an incentive to those who donate, everyone who donates more than $5 will be entered to win a prize. Currently we have a sponsor that's paying for two AnimeBlogger.net shirts for winners. You can also contribute any anime-related items as prizes for the lucky draw.

Makoto has been expected to follow in his fathers footsteps his entire life, and continue on the family business, however Makoto's actual desire is to be an actor. This clashes deeply with his fathers beliefs and finally in an attempt to shut his son up once and for all, Makoto's father proposes a challenge. To prove his acting talent, determination and dedication to becomming an actor, Makoto must transfer schools and live his last two years at collage as a girl. If he can make it to graduation with no one finding out his secret, then he is free to do what he wishes.

However within the first week of transfering to the new school, he makes friends with another Drama club member, Ito-san - a tomboy who usually wears the male school uniform and has a boyish haircut. While at her house, Ito discovers Makoto's secret, but after hearing the story behind the at-first-disturbing-act, she vows to help Makoto keep his secret and defeat his fathers challenge.

However, if there's one tradition I will not shirk, then that would be the annual Christmas updates here.

In that spirit, I would like to introduce -- not only yet another non-anime title -- but not even an animated one this time around. It stars, amongst other people, the gentleman on the left, who should be well known to most people who are of the age 20 or above, back when the Muppet Show still made the rounds, even on Norwegian TV.

Yes, it's The Muppet Christmas Carol, maybe one of the best know and certainly one of the oft adapted Christmas tales of all time.

Setting aside the fact that the ending to Magikano was an absolutely travesty, it was a pretty good series. But I'm not here to talk about it, am I? No, today we're talking about Touka Gettan, a series that seems to me to be very similar to Fate/Stay Night, except that it confuses me more and has more sex involved. Hm.

Touka Gettan stars the eponymous Touka, a character so androgynous that I thought he was a girl until I was nearly done with the second episode. Speaking of which, I should probably summarize the first two episodes real quick, so that this post makes some sense. This is complicated somewhat by the fact that I really don't know what happened in the first two episodes. Here's what I remember of them, organized nicely into bullet points:

Touka talks with his mom on the phone, possibly for the first time.

Touka has some flower-sword-thing inside his torso. I think it was called the Crystal Sword.

Some bizarre ceremony thing happens...

But not before a massive food fight.

Touka runs into some girl named Momoka and they kiss.

Pretty much everyone seems to be someone else, only reincarnated.

A bunch of people disappeared during the ceremony thing.

So um, yeah. On to the now. [...]

I find reviewing this show rather difficult. I really loved the show from the beginning, and stuck through till the end, however there were plenty of moments along the way where the plot seemed to lack direction. Read on for more information, and why I think that you should still watch it.

At 15, Nanami is starting highschool and exploring life. Her attention is caught by the attention seeking and exeperating Yano, a popular confident classmate who's carefree attitude both repells and attracts Nanami. Nanami gradually unravels the mystery that is Yano, and slowly we understand Yano's motivations and story. A romance to rival Kare Kano (without the piss poor ending).
