Nagareboshi Gin was aired in the 80s and followed a dog named Silver
Fang/Nagareboshi Gin on a quest for revenge. I've never seen the
original, and I've always planned to downloading it from Animesuki but
never got round to. But yeah, for any Homeward Bound fans or anyone who
liked that Menchi episode from Excel Saga will probably like this.
Though I really doubt that this will be subbed, I'm highly anticipating
it. I'm guessing that this is a remake/retelling of the original since
the two series are quite far apart. Update: The series is about the son

The story of the Gunparade series takes
place in an alternate reality. By the end of World War II, in 1945, an
alien race called the Genjyu suddenly descended upon the war-torn Earth
to take it over. Suddenly, the world has a much bigger thing to worry
about than simple matters over pride and land. These aliens are out to
wipe out the human race!
United for the first time in human history against an unprecedented
threat mankind have fought the Genjyu for over half a century, only to
see their world slowly swallowed by the devastating foe invading the
planet. Jumping forward to present day (sometime in the year 1999) in
the Japanese region of Kyushu we discover the humans are fighting back
with newly devised weapons known as Humanoid Walking Tanks (HWT), and
the hideous power which is the PBE bomb against the Genjyu "Brains"
leading the assaults on the few safe havens that remain.
Ishida Saryou graduated the staff training school Tositake in Tokyo and
is assigned as the troop flight leader of the 4th division of the 108th
guard army in Aomori. The troop is lacking any experience though, as
nobody has ever encounter the aliens in a real fight. Above all there`s
somebody amongst the troop who doesn`t welcome her. Just in this hard
times the Genjyu appear oncemore and the 4th division gets the order to
make a sortie and fight them...

It was the spring break for 11-year-old
Haruka living in Hakodate. One day, she witnessed a man atop the church

come from one of the worlds of 15 years later, Rakurima Space-Time

of Haruka's childhood friend, Yuu, as an adult.
In the universe of 15 years later, there raged on a violent,
ever-expanding war between the "Rakurima Space-Time World" that tried to
protect the human world with advanced technological power, and the
"Shangri La Space-Time World" that intended to annihilate all of space
and time. It was a matter of time before Rakurima would be unable to
withstand the attacks of the Shangri La forces, which were proud of
their overwhelming powers. Finding that the key(=Dragon's Tolk) to
halting Shangri La's invasion existed in the universe 15 years ago, the
Dragon Cavalry commander sent in his Dragon Cavaliers into the world of
15 years ago, in order to capture the Dragon's Tolk.
12-year-old Haruka's summer break. She tells Yuu, pressured to study for
the exams and feeling depressed, "If you're going to run away from home
I'll go with you". It is in front of these two that the blue-green
shining snow dances again, and Karasu appears. "It can't be... the
Dragon's Tolk is..." mumbles Karasu in astonishment, as Haruka's neck
starts faintly glowing, as if calling out to Karasu. Will the girl who
holds the "key" to lifting the future out of despair, Haruka, change the
future? What choices will Yuu and Karasu make? The destiny that spans
space and time, is now starting to move.
